Altamont Fire Protection District responded to 31 calls in 2017 - 93.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Altamont included 23 fires - six structure fires, nine vehicle fires and eight other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $29,100 in fire loss - or about $1,265 per fire.

The department also received seven false calls.

The Altamont Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $102,751 in 2017.
