Paris CFPD responds to 38 fires in 2017

Paris Central Fire Protection District responded to 42 calls in 2017 - 4.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Paris included 38 fires - nine structure fires, six vehicle fires and 23 other fires.

In all, the department saw $597,000 in fire loss - or about $15,711 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.

The Paris Central Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $390,211 in 2017.

The Paris Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 14 active employees and 18 retired or inactive employees, was $613,312 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $17,036 for every fire in 2016.
