Robinson FD responds to 45 fires in 2017

Robinson Fire Department responded to 85 calls in 2017 - 25 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Robinson included 45 fires - 22 structure fires, 10 vehicle fires and 13 other fires.

In all, the department saw $918,900 in fire loss - or about $20,420 per fire.

The department also received 40 false calls.

The Robinson Fire Department had an annual budget of $1,147,878 in 2017.

The Robinson FPD Firefighters Pension Fund, which has nine active employees and eight retired or inactive employees, was $274,971 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $9,820 for every fire in 2016.
