Neoga Community Unit School District 3 issued the following announcement on June 4.
As you may have already heard, ESPN picked up the Cubs/Cards game on June 17 as their Sunday Night Game of the Week, which changes the start time of that game to 7pm Central.
The Hatchets and the Indians will still be playing each other on the field at Busch that day, but rather than keep us there until 2am by playing after, we will play before the night game. In order for the stadium to be properly prepared for the ESPN game, our game will start at 9am.
Gate 2 will open at 8 am. No tickets will be necessary to enter the stadium for the Hatchets/Indians game. Open seating is available in all of the red seats on the field level. Concession stands will be available during our game.
Pregame ceremonies with introductions of the players will begin at 8:45.
We apologize for any inconvenience this causes anyone. We are at the mercy of our hosts (the St. Louis Cardinals) and their contractual obligations to ESPN.
