HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital issued the following announcement on June 1.

The HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital Rehabilitation Department is offering their sixth annual sports enhancement program to all junior high and high school athletes. There are still seats available!

This summer program will give students an opportunity to understand their strengths and weaknesses and to focus on increasing the individual’s speed, strength, agility and power. The eight-week sports enhancement program will run from June 4 – July 27, 2018 at the HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital’s Rehabilitation Services Department located at 201 S. Cedar, Shelbyville. Classes are an hour and a half in length.

Classes meet twice a week and are still available for Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. – noon or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-2:30 p.m. Fee is $150.00 per athlete, which includes screenings and training. If you bring a friend or family member who also registers, you’ll receive a $10 discount.

Strength training is a vital part of a balanced exercise routine that includes aerobic activity and flexibility.
