City of Martinsville City Council met May 23.
Here is the minutes provided by the Council:
Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Davidson, Troy Propst, John Skinner and David Doran with Mike Cribelar and Melinda Lovell absent. Also in attendance was Mayor Herman Davidson. Clerk Marlene Wilhoit and Treasurer Melinda Owen were both absent. Employees and citizens in attendance are attached to the back of the minutes.
**Motion by C Davidson 2nd by D Doran to approve minutes from 05-09-18 council meeting.
Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (4)
** No treasurer report was presented.
The following quotes were received for tree cut and removal down to the stump for a total of 7 trees:
L & M Tree Service $2350.00 / Jones Tree Service $2450.00 / Wayne’s Tree Service $3625.00 / Phillips Tree Service $ 3700.00.
** Motion by C Davidson 2nd by T Propst to accept the bid of $2350.00 from L & M Tree Service.
Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (4)
Bob Lovell spoke to council on sanctuary cities for legal firearm owners.
Mayor Davidson discussed street closer for the Martinsville Ag Fair 5K run to be held on June 16th.
