Cost of college went up for all students at Olney Central College

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.7 percent for 2017-18 at Olney Central College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois residents paid $9,743 to attend the two-year public institution this year $344 more than the $9,399 charged for 2016-17.

Non-residents paid 20.4 percent more than residents this year, or $11,734. Their price tag grew 3 percent from $11,390 in 2016-17.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents. About 1 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 174 students received grants or scholarships totaling $643,111 and 18 students took out student loans totaling more than $72,612.

Including all undergraduates, 1,199 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.81 million. Another 109 took out $410,622 in federal student loans.
