Report: Jasper County spent $9,010 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Jasper County Community Unit School District 1 is down 6 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jasper County school district spent $9,608 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,010 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1412 to 1364.

Jasper County's spending in 2016-17 was 31 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
