Report: Beecher City spent $10,993 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Beecher City Community Unit School District 20 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Effingham County school district spent $9,653 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,993 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 375 to 294.

Beecher City's spending in 2016-17 was 15 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
