Report: Lawrence County spent $8,911 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Lawrence County Community Unit School District 20 is up 3 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lawrence County school district spent $8,691 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,911 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1261 to 1205.

Lawrence County's spending in 2016-17 was 31 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
