Report: Cumberland spent $8,012 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Cumberland Community Unit School District 77 is down 6 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cumberland County school district spent $8,555 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,012 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1022 to 1030.

Cumberland's spending in 2016-17 was 38 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
