Report: Arthur spent $9,658 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Arthur Community Unified School District 305 is up 45 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Douglas County school district spent $6,677 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,658 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 858 to 1224.

Arthur's spending in 2016-17 was 26 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
