Report: Arcola spent $9,709 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Arcola Community Unified School District 306 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Douglas County school district spent $8,535 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,709 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 794 to 735.

Arcola's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
