Report: Paris spent $9,586 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Paris Community Unit School District 4 is up 4 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Edgar County school district spent $9,239 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,586 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 712 to 470.

Paris's spending in 2016-17 was 26 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
