Carle Richland Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on May 2.
The Board of Trustees of Carle Richland Memorial Hospital announced today that Harry Brockus, Carle Vice President of Regional Health, will serve as the Interim Chief Executive Officer for CRMH effective May 1, 2018.
Brockus has been the Chief Executive Officer at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center for the past 10 years, leading them through significant change, including integration to become part of the Carle Health System in 2012. Since that time, he has become involved in the management of Carle’s rural sites throughout Illinois, including clinics designated as rural health by Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services. He is passionate about healthcare and serving rural communities.
Over the past year, Brockus has acted as a consultant to Carle Richland Memorial Hospital on rural health issues and has formed a good working relationship with the executive team. The Board is confident that his guidance during this time of transition will allow for continuity as CRMH continues to progress on key strategic initiatives.
Brockus will also provide assistance to the Board of Trustees as they begin a national search for a new permanent Chief Executive Officer.
Brockus entered healthcare as a respiratory therapist in 1993. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Calumet College of St. Joseph and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University. He is a past chair of the Illinois Hospital Association’s Small and Rural Hospital Committee. He recently presented on collaborations in healthcare at the American Hospital Association’s National Rural Health Conference.
The CRMH Board of Trustees asks everyone to join them in welcoming Brockus to the hospital and the community.
Additionally, the Board wishes to thank Jennifer Emmons for her 14 years of service to Carle Richland Memorial Hospital and wishes her the best in her future endeavors.
