City of Oakland Acres City Council met January 4.

Dave Stolz started the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approval Of Minutes Of Previous Meetings: Motion-Woodworth 2nd- Newlin, Motion approved 6 ayes

Arrests:
• John W. Stewart, 47, 24588 Marathon Lane, Oakland – Arrested on a Coles County Warrant for Failure to Appear on a theft charge.
• Chelsie L. Hayes, 29, 19843 Troy St. Rardin – Arrested on a Douglas County Warrant for Contempt of Court.
• Travis B. Golie, 35, 17551 E. 1575th Rd, Chrisman – Arrested for Driving while license suspended and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver.
Assisted Other Agencies:
• Assisted Oakland Ambulance
• Assisted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office with a report that came in through their county of a possible hostage situation. Located the individual safe at a residence east of town. Report unfounded.
• Assisted the Coles County Sheriff’s Office with a report of several children in the care of intoxicated mother. Report unfounded.
• Assisted the Coles County Sheriff’s Office with a wellbeing check on a Deputy not answering his status check. Deputy was fine, technical difficulties.
Calls For Service:
• Report of two missing juveniles. The juveniles were quickly located in Paris with the assistance of the Paris Police Department. The OPD then transported the two juveniles from the Paris PD back to Oakland, returning them safely to their mother.
• Suspicious vehicle at the lake.
• One motor vehicle collision – No injuries.
• Battery that occurred at “Quality” Housing. Victim refused to prosecute.
• Domestic Battery at “Quality” Housing. Participants left prior of officer’s arrival.
• Loud noise complaint at “Quality” Housing. Individual stated they would quell the noise.
• Child custody dispute at “Quality” Housing. Parties later resolved the matter themselves.
• Domestic situation at 635 N. Walnut. One party left the residence.
• Report of someone tampering with straps holding a mower on a trailer. Complainant just wanted the incident documented.
• Fourth party report of a suicide threat. Officer Brewer responded and located the individual and determined that the individual was not a threat to themselves or others.
Training:
• Officer Brewer attended a 16 hour course on December 1 & 2 at ILEAS Training Center in Urbana, entitled Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC).
Issues & Information:
• Traded the Department’s Mossberg 500 shotgun in for a newer model (Mossberg 590A1). The old shotgun was showing its age and needed several parts replaced.
• Traded Chief Sander’s Department issued Duty Pistol in for a smaller, lighter model to reduce the weight carried on his belt.

Took sewer and water samples, read water meters, maintenance on equipment, plowed snow, water line froze at water plant were people haul water
