Cumberland Community Unit School District 77 issued the following announcement on April 30.
On Wednesday, May 2, for $1, students may wear a hat to show their support for the Lupus Society of Illinois.
All proceeds will go to the LSI based in Chicago, Illinois. $1 donations will help patients seek medical treatment and attend workshops.
Purple is their trademark color and the butterfly signifies the organization.
Students may wear purple that day, too. Let's show the Lupus community our support!
