Arcola City Council met March 19.
Here is the minutes as provided by the council:
Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Hensley, Ferguson, Guyot, Foran, Huckstep and Smith. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.
Pledge of Allegiance Alderman Hensley led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Public Comment There was none.
Approval of March 05, 2018 Council Meeting Minutes Alderman Foran moved to approve the March 05, 2018 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, Hensley, aye; Ferguson, abstain; Guyot, aye; Foran, aye; Huckstep, aye; Smith, aye. Motion carried.
Approval of March 03 – March 16, 2018 Bills Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the March 03, 2018 – March 16, 2018 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Consider and Approve Donation to the Arcola Food Pantry Strides Against Hunger Event Alderman Foran moved to approve donation in amount of $100 to the Arcola Food Pantry Strides Against Hunger Event. Alderwoman Huckstep seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Consider and Approve Contract for Mowing Services with the Hendrix Group Alderman Foran moved to approve 3 yr. contract for mowing services with The Hendrix Group, with an option for 4th yr. Alderman Guyot seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Consider and Approve Hiring Ebby Bergfield as Part-Time Seasonal Employee Alderman Foran moved to approve hiring Ebby Bergfield as parttime seasonal employee at $17 an hour. Alderman Guyot seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Ferguson Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Guyot Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.
Alderwoman Huckstep Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Smith Reported the Employee Relations Committee met
prior to this meeting. Andy Lindenmeyer was
present and gave information and quotes on
employee health insurance.
Also reported the Police, Ordinance & Enforcement
Committee met prior to this meeting and went into
executive session to discuss candidates for police
officer position.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Council approved unanimously by voice vote.
