Village of Noble Village Board met Feb. 26.
Here is the minutes provided by the Village:
The Village Council met on the above date at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order and present were Richard Clark, Tresa Hundley, Carl Klingler, Paul Summers, Gary Ulm, Janet Pflaum, Judith Anderson and Carol O’Dell.
Opened with silent prayer and followed by reciting Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion made by Carl Klingler to approve February 12, 2018, minutes. Seconded by Carol O’Dell. All voting Aye.
Early voting will be held at the Noble Village Hall on March 12 from 4pm.-5:30p.m.
Please remove ground decorations from the Noble Cemetery by March 30.
Mayor Clark informed the board that a week ago to date Brad Kessler told him he was going to retire. Brad’s last working day was February 23 and he is using his vacation and personal time so his official retirement date will be March 31. Currently the Village has 2 employees (Bill Manuel and Lonnie Smith).
Thank you card from Leroy Clark’s family for flowers was received for the Village.
Mayor Clark talked to Village employee Lonnie Smith regarding smoking in the village vehicle and he will not be doing it any more.
Joe Bogard finished building wooden picnic tables for the Village that was part of projects to earn him his Eagle Scout. Mayor Clark mentioned the idea of Village employees building a couple more picnic tables for the park. Motion made by Carl Klingler for the Village employees to build 3 picnic tables at an approximate cost of $280.00 for the Village park. Seconded by Judith Anderson. All voting Aye.
Mayor Clark informed the board that the house at 121 W. South Ave. (former Fulk house now owned by David Wille) has been torn down and getting cleaned up.
Mayor Clark received a courtesy email from Jana Baker advising the board that she has met with Richland County Clerk in regards to the requirements to have a public question placed on the ballot for the November 2018 election, a petition will be circulated and will file it with the Village Clerk by the deadline.
Motion made by Carl Klingler approving the Easter Egg Hunt to be held in the Noble Park. Seconded by Paul Summers. All voting Aye. Village Clerk informed the board that the Noble Lions Club will be providing insurance. Motion made by Carl Klingler to donate $50.00 to Pat Prosser for the Easter Egg Hunt. Seconded by Gary Ulm. All voting Aye.
Resident Bob Reed that lives at 326 S. First St. is requesting a street light in his area. Mayor Clark mentioned another place by Heather McClure’s residence (120 W. Locust St.) needing a street light. Motion made by Gary Ulm to put street lights in area of 326 S. First St. and 120 W. Locust St. Seconded by Carol O’Dell. All voting Aye.
Mayor Clark told the board that the Village tractor should be back in next 2-3 days. Trustee Klingler mentioned installing a buzzer in the tractor when parking break is in use.
Motion made by Carl Klingler to pay bills. Seconded by Judith Anderson. All voting Aye.
Motion made by Carl Klingler to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m. Seconded by Carol O’Dell. All voting Aye.
