Beecher City Community Unit School District 20 Board met February 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The regular meeting of the Beecher City Community Unit District No. 20 Board of Education was held February 12TH, 2018 in the high school business room. Lee Roadarmel, Vice President of the Board, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the following board members present: Lee Roadarmel, Nancy Wolf, Ryan Schaefer, Jordan Shields, and Shane Burks. Scott Cameron, Unit Superintendent, Phil Lark, High School Principal, and Rosa Milleville, Grade School Principal were also in attendance. Darren Doty, President and Craig Anderson were absent.

A motion was made by Shields, and seconded by Schaefer, to enter into executive session at 7:03 p.m. for discussion of matters relating to evaluation, employment and/or dismissal of staff, as well as other matters appropriate for closed-session discussion. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Burks, and seconded by Schaefer, to return to open session at 8:07 p.m. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Burks, and seconded by Shields, to approve the minutes of executive session. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Schaefer, and seconded by Roadarmel, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on January 8th, 2018. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Wolf, and seconded by Shields, to adopt the agenda as presented with the following additions of another Executive Session. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Schaefer, and seconded by Roadarmel, to approve the payment of the listed bills as presented. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Shields, and seconded Roadarmel, to approve the hire of Mitchell Tarr, as Ag Teacher for 2018-2019 school year. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Schaefer, and seconded by Shields, to approve the use of the Grade School facility by the Parent’s Association on March 16th, 2018 as presented. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion made by Schaefer, and seconded by Shields to approve the 2018-2019 school calendar as presented. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion made by Wolf, and seconded by Burks to approve Donovan Riley as the volunteer high school baseball coach. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion made by Wolf, and seconded by Schaefer to enter into an additional Executive Session at 8:35 p.m. for matters appropriate for closed-session discussion. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Wolf, and seconded by Burks, to return to open session at 8:57 p.m. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Shields, and seconded by Burks, to approve the minutes of executive session. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion made by Burks, and seconded by Shields to adjourn the meeting at 9:12 p.m. Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
