The New Hope Board of Education met on November 21, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the work room of the school.
President Jason Simpson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Superintendent Julie Harrelson presented the Treasurer’s Report and current financial information. Bank balances as of October 31, 2017.

Mrs. Harrelson presented the Superintendent’s Report; PARCC score comparison to area schools shows New Hope the top in ELA scores and second in Math scores. IL District Report card was included in the board packets. SIJHSAA eligibility for non-certified staff’s children has not changed. In response to the Fairfield Area Ministerial Alliance letter regarding games and activities that take place on Wednesday nights, New Hope has always tried to refrain from scheduling on Wednesdays. McTeacher Night was a success and proceeds will be used towards a new postermaker. Christmas dinner is Monday night at 6:00 p.m. at the Journey Church. Christmas program is scheduled for Friday, December 8th at First Christian Church. Illinois House has passed the property tax freeze with the Senate to decide in January. New Hope would lose $60,000 from Wayne County taxes alone.
Board discussion of item number 2, Tax Levy. Mrs. Harrelson explained how the levy is prepared.
