The regular meeting of the Beecher City Community Unit District No. 20 Board of Education was held July 10th, 2017 in the high school business room. Darren Doty, President of the Board, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the following board members present: Darren Doty, Nancy Wolf, Craig Anderson, Shane Burks, Ryan Schaefer, Lee Roadarmel and Jordan Shields. Scott Cameron, Unit Superintendent was also in attendance.
A motion was made by Roadarmel, and seconded by Anderson to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on June 12th, 2017 as presented. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Wolf, and seconded by Shields to adopt the agenda as presented. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Doty, and seconded by Wolf to approve the payment of the listed bills as presented. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Roadarmel, and seconded by Schaefer to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement with Effingahm County Schools for shared classes. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Burks, and seconded by Anderson to approve to approve to set the fiscal year as July 1st, 2017 to June 30th, 2018. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion made by Anderson, and seconded by Schaefer, to approve the Title 1 District Plan as presented. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Wolf, and seconded by Roadarmel to approve to hire Sherry Wright as a classroom aide for 2017-2018 school year. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Schaefer, and seconded by Doty to approve the proposed retirement agreement for a school Administrator. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Doty, and seconded by Roadarmel to approve the Proposed Employment Contract for School Principal. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Wolf, and seconded by Shields to approve Carolyn Wendte as head teacher at the junior/senior high school. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Schaefer, and seconded by Burks to accept Andrew Noble’s resignation as JV Boys Basketball coach. Doty, yea; Roadarmel, yea; Wolf, yea; Schaefer, yea; Shields, yea; Anderson, yea; Burks, yea. Motion carried unanimously.
