Arcola City Council met March 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Moore, Key, Guyot, Foran, Huckstep and Smith. City Administrator Wagoner was also present. Treasurer Harvey and Attorney Bequette were not present.

Pledge of Allegiance: Alderwoman Moore led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Public Comment: There was none.

Approval of March 6, 2017 Council Minutes: Alderman Foran moved to approve the March 06, 2017 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, Moore, aye; Key, abstain; Guyot, aye; Foran, aye; Huckstep, aye; Smith, aye. Motion carried.

Approval of March 6 - March 17, 2017 Bills: Alderwoman Moore moved to approve the March 04 – March 17, 2017 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Guyot. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Consider and Approve Donation to the Arcola Food Pantry: Alderwoman Moore moved to approve a donation in amount of $100 to the Arcola Food Pantry. Alderwoman Huckstep seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Report from the Planning Commision: The Planning Commission met March 06th, reviewed and recommended the council approve a request from Charles Lyons for a Special Use Permit for home occupied business. He is requesting to start, by appointment, a vehicle detail business in garage located at 347 W. Jefferson and to place sign in front yard. Alderwoman Key moved to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Committee Reports

Alderwoman Moore Had nothing at this time.

Alderwoman Key Reported the Police, Ordinance &

Enforcement Committee met prior to this meeting and discussed military leave of absence. Also discussed the vacate Animal Control position.

Alderman Guyot Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.

Alderwoman Huckstep Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time.

Mayor Ferguson reminded everyone of the CIMOA meeting on April 20th at Savoy.

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Council approved unanimously by voice vote.

Adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
