Travis Meteer, a commercial agriculture educator from the University of Illinois Extension, spoke at the regional meeting for beef cattle producers Jan. 25 at Illinois Valley Community College Oglesby campus.
The meeting covered topics to help beef-cattle producers make good business decisions and better understand the cattle market. It also discussed how to control costs when raising cattle.
"Many producers will find interest in cow nutrition discussions and the subsequent effects they have on reproduction," Meteer said in a news release. "Getting cows bred should be at the top of everyone’s list. Calving season is always an important, exciting time.."
