Public hearing on ISBE budget planning to follow board meeting
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois State Board of Education has announced the schedule for its regular business meeting via video conference in Chicago on Friday, Nov. 18.
A public budget hearing will follow the Board’s regular business meeting in the same room and begin at approximately 1 p.m. Board member Curt Bradshaw, chair of the ISBE Finance and Audit Committee, will host the budget hearing. The feedback collected will inform the fiscal year 2018 budget recommendations ISBE will make to the General Assembly in January. Another public budget hearing is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Granite City.
All State Board of Education meetings are accessible to persons with disabilities. Persons planning to attend who need special accommodations should contact the Superintendent’s office no later than the day prior to the meeting. Chairman James Meeks may call for a break in the meeting as necessary in order for the Board to go into closed session.
