Families, faculty and food will feature prominently alongside institutional information and orientation experiences at Eastern Illinois University’s Nov. 11 open house for prospective students, all of whom are invited to attend the free on-campus event.
Check-in will begin at 7:45 a.m. at the Concourse of the Doudna Fine Arts Center, located at 1860 7th St. in Charleston, where a free continental breakfast will be available. Additionally, “Early Bird” campus tours are slated for 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
After a 9 a.m. welcome ceremony in Dvorak Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Center, the 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Academic/Student Services Fair will offer potential enrollees a chance to meet face-to-face with faculty members, staff and advisors from various departments. Between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. visitors can take advantage of more campus tours, a complimentary lunch and other activities.
Lunch will be served for visitors in the Stevenson, Taylor and Thomas Dining Centers. Information centers will be stationed on campus for guests to learn more about application and admissions procedures, housing and dining options. Current students will be on hand to share their experiences with potential enrollees.
Parking is available in all student or staff parking lots. Visitors who decide to enroll immediately can take advantage of a $30 savings from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. during the open house day.
