The Tolono Public Library board of trustees will meet tomorrow and discuss its plans for the future.

In order to consider finances, Fun Day and front-runners for representation in the Illinois Heartland Library System, Tolono Public Library District’s board of trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, April 5, at the library.

Using the acronym SHARE (Sharing Heartland's Available Resources Equally), the Illinois Heartland Library System shares automated data among at least 588 member libraries statewide, in one of the nation’s largest such groups. It was formed in 2012 by merging four different regional libraries.

Following reports from the treasurer and library director -- including a review of statements and reports and approval of bills payable -- the board will continue discussion of Tolono’s annual Fun Day celebration. In new business, the group expects to establish a date for the next meeting of its finance committee for the purpose of reviewing the amended 2015-16 budget and 2016-17 working budget.

Additionally, members will conduct a conversation on continuing education topics. The review of candidates for the Illinois Heartland Library System will round out new business for the evening.

Trustees may enter an executive session, if necessary, prior to adjournment. The library board meets in the public library’s meeting room, at 111 E. Main St. The next board meeting will take place on May 3.
