The Marshall Public Library is planning to host a ‘Solar System Walk’ this April 11-29.
Families will have the chance to enjoy nature while marveling at the universe, courtesy of Marshall Public Library’s “Solar System Walk” April 11-29, which will include hands-on activities along a specially designated route down Archer Avenue.
The exhibit is the brainchild of NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and is designed to enhance participants’ grasp of the universe’s incredible magnitude.
The Solar System Walk will begin right at the library. Trekkers can follow signs representing each of the solar system’s planets until they reach the trail’s end at Cooper’s Laundromat. Library staff urges visitors to come inside the library building in order to view simulations of the moon, along with a comet and asteroid.
A gadget called the “Solar System Scale” can measure a person’s weight as if he or she were on a planet with a gravitational force different from that of Earth’s. Additionally, kids of all ages will have an opportunity to build an object using a glove box, just like astronauts in space suits would.
Marshall citizens can prepare to aim high starting Friday, gaining a surefire win with the multiple benefits of fresh air, exercise and satisfaction of curious minds.
