Tuscola City Council addresses construction concerns, announces spring events

Arranging for family fun, fundraising and fiscal tasks, the Tuscola City Council addressed traffic and construction matters, along with community events, at its regular meeting on Feb. 22. 

On the consent agenda, Tuscola City Council quickly reviewed and approved its previous meeting minutes from Feb. 8, the January financial report and bill payments. Specific invoices were presented for two separate roofing bids from Adkisson Construction, plus one request from Owen Tucker for infrastructure in the Doris subdivision.

The Adkisson bills were listed in the amounts of $13,640.50 and $13,155.25, while Tucker’s invoice totaled $11,438.25.

An Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Kiwanis Club was announced for March 19, with a 5K/10K run route to benefit cystic fibrosis scheduled for June 3.

An ordinance to amend Chapter 75, regarding traffic regulations, centered on the topic of creating stop intersections at two points along Justice Street, at its respective junctions with North Line Road and Barker Street.

Additionally, the council considered bids for municipal electric aggregations, a billing error concerning IAWC and a possible executive session to discuss land acquisition prior to adjournment.

The Tuscola City Council’s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 14.
