The city pool and the Bowen property were on the agenda for the Marshall City Council meeting on Jan. 25.

The council tabled the discussion on establishing a Capital Campaign Cabinet for the Marshall City Pool. It will be revisited at the next council meeting.

The council did approve $2,525 toward the Capital Campaign. Burbach Aquatics Inc. will complete phase one, step five. At the previous council meeting, on Jan. 11, the council viewed a presentation showing the history of the community pool, the current condition and the costs involved in building a new pool and facilities. The current estimate totals nearly $3 million. The presentation also emphasized the benefits of a new community pool.

The council also voted on Ordinance No. 2016-O-01, which rezoned the Don Bowen property. The motion was passed unanimously. The council also heard a motion to pay Walmart Community $253.02. The motion carried, with all members except for one voting yes.

After dispensing with the remaining business and approving payment of $721,610.52 for the city's bills, the meeting was adjourned.
