A recent CAA meeting revealed the group's major updates and decisions.

The Eastern Illinois University’s (EIU) Council on Academic Affairs (CAA) approved updates to the admission requirements for students seeking entry to the Health Studies program during its Feb. 11 meeting.

Beginning in the fall, the criteria for admission to the Department of Health Studies will include completion of 15  semester hours of work at EIU or another higher education institution; and a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.

In other business, an enrollment forum date that conflicts with the CAA’s March 3 meeting was handled by a member volunteering to attend as CAA representative. Also, the undergraduate catalog will be updated immediately with text concerning provisional admission to the nursing major.

CAA members also learned that a secure website had been created for the Faculty Laureate Committee to review nomination materials.

Members present at the meeting included Greg Aydt, James Bruehler, Kirstin Duffin, Marita Gronnvoll, Robert Martinez, Debra Reid, Stacey Ruholl, JaLisa Smith and Richard Wilkinson. Staff in attendance included Provost Blair Lord and Janet Fopay, and guests were Analicia Haynes, of Daily Eastern News; Renee Kidd-Marshall, Nursing; Misty Rhoads, Health Studies; Luke Steinke; and Bonnie Wilson, of the College of Education & Professional Studies.

The next CAA meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.
