Clark County’s Casey-Westfield Board of Education gained a psychologist, lost a bus driver and heard about numerous local school accomplishments at its Jan. 25 meeting.
The meeting commenced with a public hearing regarding school fire prevention and safety bonds. Board members also approved a motion to release bid documents regarding a roof replacement, and heard board and administration reports.
Members approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with Shiloh CUSD No. 1, Cumberland CUSD No. 77 and Paris District No. 4 for school psychology services. Psychologist Mel Titus, who is serving the Shiloh CUSD No. 1, will begin working with C-4 students during the 2016-17 school year.
Board members learned that a National School Lunch Program grant was received to fund a new walk-in cooler to replace an old refrigerator.
In junior and senior high news, math competition winners Ella Coffey, Dawson Dallape, Layden Duniphan, Nate Fouty, Paeton Hagen, Cade Harkins, Trey Huisinga and Mason Roberts advanced to a regional competition in Salem. The school’s math and science department extended thanks to Marathon Petroleum for a $500 donation.
Finally, the board received a resignation from school bus driver Leroy Wofford effective Jan. 22.
