The Casey City Council will gather tonight to discuss union negotiations, business matters.
Union negotiations, utility projects and park plans were on the agenda for the Casey City Council meeting on Feb. 15.
Park Committee Chair Sharon Carlen reported on a Feb. 8 meeting, regarding the discussion and review of the Park District, while Salary and License Committee Chair Michael Nichols reviewed and discussed union negotiations from the same meeting.
Nichols, who also serves as Public Utilities chairman, reported on a Feb. 10 discussion concerning a water main and lines for the west side of the city, and the project’s relationship to EPA requirements.
The council took action on a grant application for new water main installation with Coles County Regional Commission. Additionally, the council discussed the possible purchase of land, along with a property lease agreement for the water line project’s proposed booster station.
City Council officers, aldermen and Mayor Everett Bolin each presented reports. Following Clerk Robin McClellan’s report, the council approved current bills and agreed to pay for professional services from the Wastewater Project Fund.
