The Charleston Board of Zoning Appeals & Planning (BZAP) will consider proposed changes to the City of Charleston Unified Development Code text concerning drive-ins and their uses during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. today in City Council Chambers, 520 Jackson Ave.
When a petition or petitions are presented, the BZAP follows a particular protocol, in the following order: questions from the board and petitioner responses, questions from the audience and petitioner responses, anyone present wishing to speak in favor of the petition, anyone present wishing to speak against the petition, petitioner responses, board discussion and a motion for a vote.
The board said time limits are set for audience members to ask the petitioner questions, speak in support of the petition or speak against the petition.
Anyone addressing BZAP is asked to approach the podium, provide the city clerk with your name and address and speak into the microphone. A handheld microphone will be provided for those unable to approach the podium.
