The United States Marine Corps is marking its 250th anniversary, commemorating a history that began in 1775. The milestone recognizes the service of Marines who have played key roles on the front lines throughout American history.

"From 1775 to today, the Marines have stood on the front lines of freedom. We honor all who have served and carried forward the proud Marine tradition," the statement read.

Brad Halbrook, a Republican, was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the state's 107th House District, replacing previous state representative Blaine Wilhour.
