Illinois State Representative Chris Miller has criticized Governor JB Pritzker’s approach to state spending and fiscal management, stating that the governor’s policies have negatively affected Illinois residents and businesses.

According to Miller, “Pritzker signs an EO to save money in Illinois and continues to blames Trump for everything wrong in our state. Democrats have turned over unprecedented authority to make spending decisions to Governor Pritzker and we are watching the outcomes in real life. It’s clear as day, Pritzker’s policies have destroyed opportunity, raised the cost of living, and shackled working families and businesses from getting ahead. In the past three years, the annual spending increased another $9 billion to a total of about $55 billion.”

Miller highlighted several financial issues under Governor Pritzker's administration, including a 43% increase in state spending since he took office. He also pointed out that Chicago is facing a projected deficit of $1.15 billion for 2026.

Other concerns raised by Miller include allocations such as $4 million granted to Centro De Trabajadores Unidos for assisting undocumented immigrants, $2.5 billion spent on illegal immigration-related expenses, and $600 million directed toward non-governmental organizations.

“JB Pritzker is the root cause of everything wrong in Illinois,” said Miller.

Chris Miller was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 101st House District in 2023 after succeeding Reggie Phillips.
