HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital will temporarily move its Emergency Department entrance from Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Saturday, Sept. 13 due to resurfacing work on the parking lot and driveway asphalt. If weather delays the project, the alternate dates are set for Wednesday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Sept. 20.
During this period, the usual Emergency Department entrance will be closed. The temporary entrance will be at the glass door next to the ambulance garage exit doors on the east side of the ambulance garage. Barricades will block access to both the current emergency parking lot and drive under the canopy.
Hospital officials advise that those seeking emergency care should follow exterior signs directing them to enter from the south of the ambulance garage and look for additional signage in the parking area leading to the temporary entrance. Extra staff members will be available around-the-clock during these days to help guide patients.
As a reminder: "As always, if you need immediate medical attention, call 911 rather than driving yourself to the Emergency Department."
Patients and family members visiting for services such as Prairie Cardiovascular appointments or testing, imaging tests (including X-ray, CT, MRI), surgical procedures, OB/Maternity services, Wound Healing Center appointments or other outpatient services should use the Prairie Cardiovascular/Outpatient covered entrance off Maple Street instead. Designated patient parking is available in front of this entrance or in a lot located at Maple Street and St. Anthony’s Avenue.
A map flyer is available for more information about these changes.
