St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital Foundation announces annual golf benefit fundraiser

The HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital Foundation will hold its 16th annual Golf Benefit on Friday, September 26 at the Effingham Country Club. The event is supported by co-sponsors Air Evac Lifeteam/GMR and Vituity.

Registration for the benefit starts at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and a putting contest. The main golf event, a four-person scramble with 32 teams, begins at noon. Participants can also take part in mulligans and other contests throughout the day. A post-event reception will include a meal and announcements of tournament winners.

Funds raised from the event will be used to support hospital initiatives, including purchasing medical equipment and funding patient transportation. According to Philanthropy Manager Michael Wall, “Donors play an integral role in enhancing the care HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital provides to our patients and community each year. For example, funds raised have supported the purchase of diagnostic, surgical and state-of-the-art medical equipment, as well as funding patient transportation,” he said. “This is a special year for this event as we celebrate the hospital’s 150th year of caring for the community. We invite anyone interested in supporting our community hospital to consider sponsoring or participating in our golf event.”

Individuals who do not wish to participate in golfing can still support the hospital by becoming a “Community Support” Sponsor or by purchasing raffle tickets for various prizes. Raffle tickets are available at $5 each, five for $20, or 30 for $100.

Those interested in sponsorships, team entries, or raffle tickets can register until September 19 or contact Michael Wall at 217-347-1854 for more information.
