State Representative Adam Niemerg, representing Dieterich, Illinois, announced the successful return of a senior fair held at the Effingham National Guard Armory. The event was co-hosted with Representatives Brad Halbrook and Blaine Wilhour. Over 100 attendees participated in the fair, which aimed to provide information about services and programs available to senior citizens in Effingham County.
"I was happy to see so many people take the opportunity to learn about the many services available to them for health resources and programs offered from groups around the area like the Effingham Public Library," stated Niemerg. He emphasized that such events offer valuable opportunities for residents to have their questions answered regarding state programs and activities within the General Assembly. Additionally, attendees had the chance to socialize over coffee.
The event featured nearly twice as many vendors compared to its previous occurrence in 2019, before COVID-19 restrictions halted group activities. Niemerg expressed his intention to continue hosting this event annually, aiming to provide a comprehensive resource for district residents seeking information on community services.
