Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has officially announced his re-election campaign, as confirmed in a video released on June 26. In the announcement, Pritzker emphasized Illinois' role in promoting affordability, protecting freedoms, and implementing common-sense policies. He said that residents desire stability, opportunities for advancement, and an end to the chaos originating from Washington, D.C. The governor highlighted achievements such as seven consecutive balanced budgets, nine credit upgrades, an increased minimum wage, and capped insulin costs. Additionally, he mentioned protections for abortion rights and a ban on assault weapons. Pritzker expressed his commitment to preventing former President Trump from reversing the state's progress and urged people to support his vision for moving forward.

"Gov. Pritzker Launches Reelection Bid," said Brad Halbrook, State Representative for 107th District (R), according to Facebook. "But Illinoisans Are Asking: Will Pritzker 3.0 Be Any Better Than 1.0 and 2.0?"

According to Brad Halbrook, representative for Illinois’ 107th State House District, there are concerns among Illinois residents regarding Pritzker's leadership. On Halbrook’s Facebook page, he criticized the governor's record by stating: "Under Pritzker’s watch, Illinois has the worst outmigration in the Midwest, with over 100,000 residents fleeing the state just last year." He further commented on high taxes and described relief measures as "election-year gimmicks." Halbrook also addressed issues of crime in Chicago and challenges faced by small businesses due to mandates and regulatory measures. He characterized a potential third term for Pritzker as a rerun rather than a reboot.

Pritzker's re-election campaign included a statewide tour that concluded in West Frankfort at IBEW Local 702. The event featured appearances by Illinois AFL-CIO President Tim Drea and Business Manager of IBEW Local 702 Steve Hughart.

Halbrook was elected as a state representative in 2023 after previously serving in different districts within the Illinois House of Representatives from 2012 to 2022.
