City of Casey City Council met April 28.

The Public Hearing of the City Council was held Monday, April 28, 2025 beginning at 5:45 p.m. Mayor Nichols called the meeting to order.

Mayor Nichols opened the Public Hearing regarding the closeout for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project #20-243003 at 5:45 p.m. in the Casey City Hall Council Chambers on April 28, 2025. Mr. Kevin McReynolds of Coles County Regional Planning & Development Commission (CCRP-DC) explained the City of Casey received and completed activities under a grant awarded under the Illinois Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) administered by the State of Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. With the grant CCRP-DC was able to rehabilitate and bring up to code nine (9) homes in the City of Casey. The grant of $498,279.00 was expended, and 100% of the households helped were LMI. The grant assisted a total of 19 low to moderate income persons and resulted in no displacement of residents during construction.
