City of Arcola City Council met April 21.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Helmuth, Becerra, Budd, Foran and Hensley. City Administrator Wagoner was also present. Alderman Henson, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Petty were not present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderwoman Helmuth led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT Adam Kremer of Milano & Grunloh Engineers, LLC gave an update on the Libman Street improvements; DCEO Grant for sanitary sewer improvements; RIPI; Downtown Grant and State Legislative Grant (Arcola Center).
APPROVAL OF APRIL 07, 2025 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderwoman Helmuth moved to approve the April 07, 2025 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF APRIL 05, 2025 THROUGH APRIL 17, 2025 BILLS Alderman Foran moved to approve the April 05, 2025 – April 17, 2025 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 25-S-4, AN ORDINANCE IMPLEMENTING A MUNICIPAL GROCERY RETAILERS’ OCCUPATION TAX AND A MUNICIPAL GROCERY SERVICE OCCUPATION TAX Alderman Hensley moved to approve Ordinance No. 25-S-4 and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE FY 26 BUDGET Alderman Hensley moved to approve FY 26 budget as presented and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Budd had nothing at this time.
Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Hensley Had nothing at this time.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
