State Representative Brad Halbrook (IL) | Representative Brad Halbrook (R) 107th District
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is set to start bridge improvement work in Montgomery County. The project involves replacing the bridge decks on the Virden Avenue and North 33rd Avenue overpasses on Interstate 55. Starting April 1, the bridges will be closed to facilitate the work.
Aside from the bridge closures, the project will also necessitate nighttime lane closures on I-55. Additional improvements include installing new concrete at the bridge approaches and new guardrails, all aimed at providing a smoother driving surface and enhancing road durability. The work is slated for completion by the end of October.
