City of Tuscola City Council met Feb. 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

In the absence of Mayor Kleiss, Shoemaker moved and Morris seconded Slaughter act as Mayor Pro-Tem for the February 10 council meeting. Mayor Pro-Tem Slaughter called the meeting to order with Brace, Day, Hoey (remote), Morris, Rund, Shoemaker, Slaughter, and Waldrop in attendance. Mayor Pro-Tem Slaughter led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Consent Agenda

Slaughter went over the items on the consent agenda:

• Minutes of the January 27, 2025, meeting

• Payment of bills totaling $238,772.85

• Request from the American Legion Post 27 to hold their annual poppy sales on May 24, 2025

Rund moved to approve the items on the consent agenda. Shoemaker seconded. VOTE YEA* Brace, Day, Morris, Rund, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Waldrop. Alderman Hoey abstained. Motion carried. Waldrop moved to approve the consent agenda for February 10, 2025. Day seconded. VOTE YEA* Brace, Day, Morris, Rund, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Waldrop. Alderman Hoey abstained. Motion carried.

City Clerk - No Report

City Treasurer

Treasurer Long pointed out council should each have a copy of the Annual Tourism Board report. Any questions can be directed to Treasurer Long or Stepheny. McMahon.

City Attorney - Absent

City Administrator - No Report

Other

Long stated Administrator Hoel will be working to schedule committee budget meetings in the next few weeks. Administrator Hoel asked council to bring their calendars to the next meeting, adding the budget process should be finished by the end of March. Hoel stated the staff will first draw up a draft. Any projects can be looked into; however, staff is looking at a fairly tight budget for the coming year.

The motion to adjourn was made by Morris and seconded by Shoemaker. VOTE YEA**Brace, Day, Hoey, Morris, Rund, Shoemaker, Slaughter, Waldrop.
