The 103rd General Assembly of Illinois concluded its session on January 7, 2025, without addressing several pressing issues facing the state. The session ended "sine die," a term meaning there is no set date to reconvene. Despite expectations from Illinois families for legislative action in 2023 and 2024, significant challenges remained unaddressed.

Key issues left unresolved by the assembly include the state's growing budget deficit, which is projected to reach $3.2 billion for fiscal year 2026. Other concerns such as economic stagnation, high living costs, rising crime rates, and governmental corruption were also not tackled during this period.

The final days of the session did not result in substantial legislative progress. Critics have noted that the session required taxpayer funding but ultimately lacked meaningful outcomes.
