Village of Arthur Board of Trustees met Dec. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Arthur, Illinois, was held on Monday, December 2, 2024, in the Village Board Room. Village President Rod Randall called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Roll call was answered by Trustees Matt Bernius, Mike Hilgenberg, Isai Gutierrez, Jim Fleming, and Christy Bernius. Trustee Dave Tiffan was absent.

Pledge of Allegiance

President Randall asked J. Fleming to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Public Comment

Lyle Otto was the only visitor present.

Approval of Minutes

C. Bernius made a motion to approve the November 18, 2024 Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes. J. Fleming seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.

Approval of Expenditures

M. Hilgenberg made a motion to approve expenditures in the amount of $233,914.68. C. Bernius seconded. All Trustees voted YEA,

Village President Comments and Announcements

President Randall had no report.

Trustees' Reports

C. Bernius noted that the lighted Christmas parade will be on December 7 at 5:30 pm.

Chief of Police Report

Police Chief Elliott Tinnon provided monthly reports from the Police Department.

Public Works Supervisor's Report

Grant Corum was absent but provided reports from the Public Works department.

Village Attorney Report

Village Attorney Kenny Crossman had no report.

Unfinished Business

New Business

1. M. Bernius made a motion to hire Loretta Gingerich as a part-time crossing guard. M. Hilgenberg seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.

2. C. Bernius made a motion to postpone action on the purchase of an exterior door entry keypad for the Police Department so that more quotes and details could be collected. I. Gutierrez seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.

3. M. Bernius made a motion to approve Resolution R-12-09A-2024: A resolution concerning the minutes of closed meeting and the opening of minutes no longer considered confidential. M. Hilgenberg seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.

4. I. Gutierrez made a motion to approve Resolution R-12-09B-2024: A resolution concerning tapes of closed meetings and the destroying of tapes at least eighteen months old for meeting minutes which have been opened. J. Fleming seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.

5. M. Hilgenberg made a motion to approve Village employees' end-of-year bonuses at a rate of $300.00 for full-time employees and $75.00 for part-time employees with the Board covering the payroll tax on the bonuses. J. Fleming seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.

General Discussion

President Randall gave updates about the Park Board's request for decorating a Christmas tree.

Updates were given about the installation of the ITM behind Arthur First Bank.

C. Bernius made a motion to adjourn. J. Fleming seconded. All Trustees voted YEA.

President Randall adjourned the meeting at 7:13 pm.
