On December 15, the anniversary of the signing of the First Ten Amendments to the U.S. Constitution is celebrated as Bill of Rights Day. These amendments are fundamental in guaranteeing basic rights and empowering individuals to protect freedoms for future generations.

The process began on October 2, 1789, when President Washington sent copies of 12 amendments adopted by Congress to the states. By December 15, 1791, three-fourths of the states had ratified ten of these amendments, which are now known as the "Bill of Rights." More information can be found at the Bill of Rights Institute.
