Village of Arthur Board of Trustees met Oct 29.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A meeting of the Police Committee of the Village of Arthur, IL, was held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Committee Member Isai Gutierrez called the meeting to order at 9:01 A.M. Roll call was answered by Committee Members Rod Randall, and Gutierrez. Village Trustees, Matt Bernius, and Christy Bernius were present. Committee Member Dave Tiffan was absent. Chief Elliott Tinnon was also present. No Public Comment was heard. There was no unfinished business. 

Committee Member, Gutierrez, called on Chief Tinnon to present information, under New Business Item 1, Discussion concerning the hiring of Police Department personnel. Tinnon presented information regarding the need to hire a candidate for the position of Sergeant of Police. Chief Tinnon presented information on one candidate for the position of Sergeant. Candidate Skyler Sieving was then presented to the Police Committee. Sieving spoke to the Committee about himself and then answered questions from Committee members and attending Village Trustees. 

Committee Member Gutierrez asked the Committee Members if there was any general discussion. Trustee C. Bernius inquired of the status of the signage/letters restricting the parking of non-motor vehicles in municipal parking lots. It was discussed that Chief Tinnon would send letters to owners after signage had been posted. Enforcement would begin 30 days after the posting of the signage/receipt of warning letters. 

Committee member Gutierrez made a motion to adjourn; C. Bernius seconded. Committee Member, Gutierrez adjourned the meeting at 9:43 A.M.
