Lawrence Wyllie, the former superintendent of Lincoln Way District 210, will not face trial for multiple federal criminal charges due to health issues. The decision was made after Morris Pasqual, Acting US Attorney, filed a motion to dismiss the charges citing Wyllie's medical condition and his inability to assist in his defense.

The allegations against Wyllie stem from reports of significant corruption within Lincoln Way District 210 that surfaced in 2015. Despite the serious nature of these accusations, Wyllie will continue to receive a monthly pension of $31,985.04. If he had been prosecuted and convicted, he would have lost this pension.

Questions are being raised about whether claims of medical conditions affecting one's ability to participate in their defense could become a method for avoiding legal consequences in the judicial system.
