Du Quoin State Fair opens with family night and special theme days

The 101st Du Quoin State Fair opens this evening and will run through Labor Day, September 2. The fair's theme days for 2024 are as follows:

- Friday, August 23 – Family Night

- Saturday, August 24 – Governor’s Day

- Sunday, August 25 – Veterans Day

- Monday, August 26 – Agriculture Youth Day

- Tuesday, August 27 – Republican Day

- Wednesday, August 28 – Senior Day

- Thursday, August 29 – Sponsor Appreciation Day

- Friday, August 30 – Illinois Tourism Day

- Saturday, August 31 – Coal Heritage Day / SIU Day

- Sunday, September 1 – First Responder Day

- Monday, September 2 – Labor Day

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Du Quoin State Fair will take place on Friday, August 23 at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Twilight Parade at 6 p.m. The grand marshal of the parade is the organization 4-H.

Admission to the fair is free. Parking is also free on August 23; however, for the remaining dates of the fair, parking costs $15 at Gate 1 and $10 at all other gates. More information about theme days and entertainment can be found at https://dsf.illinois.gov/info.html.
